Currently we are using the RSVS viewer at our Claremont and Milnerton branches. CDs containing CT images from our other branches will have a different viewer unique to the CT unit at the branch. In order to open images that are distributed on CD your computer will need to meet the following minimum requirements. - Windows 2000 or a later version.
- Recommended minimum 512 MB Ram
- If you have an Apple/Mac you need a Windows parallel program.
Please follow these easy instructions to access your images. If you require further assistance please contact our PACS support number: 083 607 4613 HOW TO NAVIGATE THROUGH IMAGES ON CD WITH THE RSVS VIEWER. - When you insert the CD it should open automatically. If not, follow these steps:
- Click on START in the bottom left corner on your screen.
- Click on "My Computer" / "Computer"(MS Vista)
- Double click on the RSVS icon.
 - The screen in front of you should have a list with the patient’s name and the studies that are included on the disc.
- This specific patient has 4 studies included on the CD.
a. X-ray of the Rt shoulder
b. CT of the Lt shoulder
c. CT of the Rt shoulder
d. CT of the Lt ankle/foot.  - Select all studies by holding down the shift-key and clicking the top and the bottom row (anywhere on the line). Click the display icon in the bottom left corner.
- If you have only one study you can double click on the patient’s name and it will open. WAIT. Avoid the plus sign next to the patient folder.
 - If you want to see thumbnails, click once instead of a double click. Thumbnails of the series will display underneath the list.
- If you have double-clicked on the study the screen will display all the images/series for this study.
- View the different series optimally by splitting the screen to display 2 series.
 - Select the series that you want to scroll through with a left click on the top bar. The series is active when the bar is blue.
 - To view another series from that exam, click on the following button. (Top right corner of each block)
 - A list will appear for all the available series for this examination.
 - Select the one you want to view next.
- Click on the top bar to make the block active.
- Scroll with PAGE UP / PAGE DOWN or with the middle mouse wheel.
- When viewing MR you can scroll with an active scout line. Select the exam again from the list by clicking on the button above. A scout line will appear on the image next to the active one. It will move as you scroll.
- To select the right WINDOW LEVEL PRESETS for CT examinations, click on the icon in the top left of the screen.
 - Select CT PRESETS
- Select the appropriate window preset. (bone,lung)
- To navigate to the NEXT STUDY for this patient, click on the following icon.
- Select the appropriate study from the list that appears. (This icon only appears if the patient has more than one STUDY on the CD.
